March 15. Packed up and took midnight train on B. + O. for Opal Wyoming via St. Louis, Kansa City, Denver + Cheyenne to study methods of exterminating wolves. Acting in cooperation with Forest Service. A 3 days snow + rain storm has coered most of the U.S. Beginning to snow as I left Washington.
March 16. Woke up near Cumberland, train late. Snowing fast, about 3 inches on ground. About 6 inches at Deer Park. Only about 1 inch at Grafton + the rest of the way to Cincinnati where it got dark.
