Bailey - Arizona, Minnesota, Texas, November 1889 - February 1890

About the Project

When you are faced with lengthy travel delays, how do you spend the time? When the stagecoach was late or his trunk was placed on the wrong train, naturalist Vernon Bailey made the most of it, going on "tramps" to look for and collect more animal specimens as part of his work for the United States Biological Survey. Join other volunteers to transcribe Bailey's field book documenting his daily activities in the southwestern United States during the winter of 1889 - 1890, along with some time in his home state of Minnesota.
