Bailey, - Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Texas, April 1892 - September 1892

About the Project

In naturalist Vernon Bailey's travels to observe and collect specimens of animals and plants, his observations usually started at the very time he departed. His journey through six states in 1892 was no exception. And as often happened during the United States' late nineteenth century effort to assemble a comprehensive picture of North America's flora and fauna, he traveled with other naturalists such as John Alden Loring who later became associated with the Bronx Zoological Park. Join us in transcribing another of Bailey's field journals.
