Proceedings of the Board of Regents Meeting held on September 19, 1983

About the Project

It's the fall of 1983 and the search is on for the next Secretary of the Smithsonian. The Regents view a sample of "Smithsonian World," the Smithsonian's major television project and receive a report of its progress toward the goal of reaching a wider educational audience. Other discussions include how to handle the National Air and Space Museum's popularity and the strain it is having on the services it provides. What are viable options to handle this growth? This is just the beginning of topics the Board of Regents discussed in the September 19th meeting. Join other volunteers on this project and help us make all of the content more accessible.
