Proceedings of the Board of Regents Meeting held on January 23, 1984
About the Project
Construction was finally underway on the Quadrangle, future site of two new museums and the International Center. The International Center, named today in Secretary Ripley's honor, was set aside to promote understanding between nations on five continents: Asia, Africa, Europe, North America and South America. Its role was to nurture and facilitate collaborative research programs and symposia. It employed a specially developed computerized videodisc system to provide information on worldwide culture, history and science to the researchers who would come. This was just one report heard by the Board of Regents in January, 1984. Please help us transcribe these meeting minutes to make them more accessible to through today's digital searching tools.
