About the Project

Betty Parsons (1900-1982) was one of the leading art dealers in New York City specializing in modern art, particularly the work of the Abstract Expressionists. She opened Betty Parsons Gallery in 1946. In addition to being an art dealer, Betty Parsons was a respected artist and collector.
Read and transcribe the interview conducted with Betty Parsons in 1951 at the WNYC Art Festival. Parsons discusses her gallery at the artists she represents.
