About the Project
Are you looking for a chance to get away? Help transcribe the travel diaries of New York artist, teacher and gallery director Anna Walinska. Walinska is best known for her paintings related to the subject of the Holocaust. She travelled around the world in 1954 and 1955, visiting the capitals and major cities of many countries in Asia, the Middle East and Europe, and recorded her impressions in diaries. Walinska also wrote about progress on paintings and mentions people sitting for portraits.
