Minnijean Brown Trickey's suspension notice, February 6, 1958
About the Project
This suspension notice was issued to Minnijean Brown by Little Rock, Arkansas Public Schools in 1958. As a 15-year-old girl, Trickey was one of nine African American students who desegregated the Little Rock, Arkansas high school in 1957, three years after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled segregated schools were unconstitutional in the 1954 landmark Brown v. Board of Education case.
