USNM Curators Annual Reports: Department of Marine Invertebrates, Annual Report 1884
About the Project
In the third year since the opening of the United States National Museum, Curator Richard Rathbun submits an internal annual report of his department's activities and accomplishments to Smithsonian Secretary Spencer F. Baird. Among these details, you will note the influx of specimens gathered by the U.S. Fish Commission expeditions above the scientific steamship Albatross. Will you help us transcribe Rathbun's report? The handwriting is different the previous reports. Perhaps there is an explanation for this in the report as well.
