About the Project
In such a biodiverse environment as Central and northern South America, Martin H. Moynihan (1928-1996) was constantly recording observations of the wildlife around him. The first resident naturalist at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute, Moynihan's studies of animal behavior were respected by the scientific community around the world. In this set of field notes, he has brought together observations made in locations in two countries over six years, with gaps during 1960 and 1963.
