The history of enslaved persons is often difficult to uncover. Legal documents are one of the helpful sources that provide us with clues about individuals and their history. This is a cover letter of a report about an enslaved person in Cuba who has run away. The enslaved person is not named in the document and neither is the writer. Help us transcribe this letter and shed light on the institution of slavery outside of America.
