Doris Holmes Blake - Correspondence with Arthur Lake Holmes and Lucy Wentworth Holmes, May 1921 - March 1923

About the Project

Doris Holmes Blake's letter-writing was prolific by any standard (and even more so by our nearly all-digital era), and her correspondence provides a window into her life and personality that modern missives often do not. Perhaps the most interesting facet of these letters are the insight they offer to the relationship between Doris and her parents, already explored in our previous project. The details of their lives may be less familiar to us, but the evidence of familial love and mutual interest in the minutiae of each other's days will be recognizable in our own lives. Get to know the Holmes as you and your fellow volunpeers dive into their letters!
