Doris Holmes Blake - Correspondence with Arthur Lake Holmes and Lucy Wentworth Holmes, November 1928 - June 1929

About the Project

The vast majority of Doris Holmes Blake's correspondence with her parents is between Doris and her mother, Lucy; however, sprinkled in are letters between Doris and her father, Arthur. Health problems seem to have prevented him from writing Doris more regularly, but his occasional missives are no less intriguing for their rarity. This brings to mind the many individuals whose contributions to the Smithsonian have gone unnoticed or unappreciated for decades—you and your fellow volunpeers are helping to make their efforts better known, and enriching the world as a result. Dive in to these letters!
