Doris Holmes Blake - Correspondence with Doris S. Blake and Jack Donald Ullman, April 1962 - October 1963

About the Project

The vast majority of the correspondence in the Doris Holmes Blake papers was written by women—Doris Holmes Blake herself, her mother, Lucy Wentworth Holmes, and Doris's daughter, Doris Sidney Blake Ullman. Neither Lucy's nor Doris the elder's husbands contribute much to the correspondence, but Doris Ullman's husband, Jack, regularly leaves notes at the ends of his wife's letters. It seems clear that Jack and his mother-in-law were fond of each other! How many of these notes can you spot? Join in with your fellow volunpeers, and see more of this remarkable family!
