Doris Holmes Blake - Correspondence with Doris S. Blake Ullman, April 1972 - July 1973

About the Project

Pretty much everyone has been on the receiving end of well-meaning advice—but what makes this batch of Doris Holmes Blake's correspondence with her daughter, Doris Sidney Blake Ullman, so compelling is that readers and volunpeers can see both what is being advised and why it is being dispensed. Doris the younger has been through a very rough patch but feels she is on an upward trajectory; her mother, like parents throughout history, can't help but be concerned. These letters are additionally poignant given that they are among the last letters between mother and daughter before Doris Ullman's decease the following year. Help us add this chapter in their shared history to our knowledge of Doris Holmes Blake.
