Naúl Ojeda papers, Exhibition and Gallery files: School 33 Art Center, Exhibition and Workshop, 1999-2001

About the Project

Latin American woodcut artist Naúl Ojeda (1936-2016) was born in Uruguay and later lived and worked in France, Mexico, Chile and the United States. His work was shown in international galleries throughout his career. Though he worked in photojournalism and later watercolors and furniture painting, he is best known for his woodcut prints, also known as xilografía. Influenced by his personal experience concerning Latin American political history, Ojeda often contributed his work to organizations of social causes. His work often includes elements of the natural world in fantastical landscapes. Help us transcribe this collection and shine a light on a renowned Latin American visual artist! Note: special instructions in the full project description.
