Certified Proofs of Alaska
About the Project
Where did residents of Alaska do their banking in the 19th and 20th centuries? Banks in Juneau and Fairbanks provided national currency after receiving certified approval awarded by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. This project consists of certified proofs: a printing from every intaglio printing plate so the plate could be proofed as perfect before the plate was put into production.
