Sister Mary Corita Kent (1918-1986) letter to Ben Shahn, ca. 1960 Ben Shahn papers Sister Mary Corita Kent was an accomplished printmaker and social activist. In this letter to fellow activist artist Ben Shahn, Kent shares her fledgling interest in Hebrew. She asks Shahn to write the Hebrew alphabet on “some big old piece of paper” for her to study.
