Journal of Richard E. Blackwelder, West Indies, vol. 3

About the Project

How far would you go to learn more about beetles? In 1935, Richard Blackwelder received a three-year scholarship to conduct scientific studies outside of the United States. He focused his studies on the West Indies and the Staphylinid beetles and other insects native to that area. This third volume of his journal documents his field research in Trinidad, Tobago, Grenada, Carriacou, Saint Vincent, and Barbados from 27 December 1935 to 22 March 1936. Join us in transcribing this field book to make it more accessible to today's scientists and researchers.
