Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, established in 1870 at the Fifteenth Street Presbyterian Church in Washington, DC., was America's first public black high school. Known as the M Street High School from 1891 to 1916, the school quickly became the most highly rated secondary educational institution for blacks in the country. Transcribe Ella B.
