Ecological studies from Korea, 1965-1966

About the Project

What should a country's government focus on in the years following armed conflict? In 1965, the Smithsonian Institution's Office of Ecology and South Korea's Seoul National University embarked on a cooperative research program with the goal of "long-range development of a national science program" to advocate for natural resources management as it directly affected the economy of still-recovering South Korea. This segment of project files includes correspondence between various parties about everything from strategic goals to financial practicalities. Please help us transcribe this first set of project files to make them more legible to today's researchers.
