[[underlined]]Sunday[[/underlined]] [[underlined]]WA[[/underlined]] Visited Capital Bldg. - Much impressed by splendor and history - suggested need for revision of entire American system to bring back spirit of founders of country - Remarks of others indicated everyone thinks would like to try hand at being president. Visited Congressional Library - Again impressed by size and splendor. 15 1/2 million items cataloged - Also had another stimulus to patriotism a/c original of Gettysburg speech - Constitution, Magna Carta, etc - The old boys did wonderful job of writing - Seldom equalled today. Also visited National Gallery of Art. Only moderately impressed. Must spend more time there - Heard pianist named Wood (f.) in evening. Was not so impressed. Heat missing in room a/c no fueloil -
