March [[underlined]] 5th [[/underlined]] - Day off for everybody - [[underlined]] March 6th [[/underlined]] Ckd on material for Pilot Training program - everything very scanty - Talked over STP for needs with Tipton. Looks like thing to do is to write big book like the C-54 manual - Will discuss later - Merckel & Rudy working on program for Mechs - Got tough about skeds and finally got them out - 3 eng. O's - 6 line Chiefs and 5 pilots arrived for new class - Talked with the Officers after supper. -- E./O. seem quite eager but pilots seen apprehensive - Don't like C-46 - Talked to one afterward - Has been flying C-46 over hump but has "always been sweating out his first S.E. landing". He is scared of SE. landings, steep turns, & instant flying -
