Colonel The Colonel Commanding direct me to request from you information Regarding one Green (Colored) confined in Post Guard House for the past month From the statement of the prisoner he was arrested under charge of Rape in Charlotte N.C. from thence transferred to Landsburg [[?]] N.C finally sent here for trial I am very respectfully your ob Servant Daniel T. Wells 2 Lt 8th Infantry Post Agt To Col Cilley A.D.C. Raleigh NC
