New York 22, New York January 26, 1960 Dear Winslow, How good of you to have kept on your mind the problem of the "Studio of Veronese" drawing. I find your thoughts of Carletto Caliari or Leonardo Corona most constructive, and furthermore, it would be thrilling, should you succeed in finding the photographs to which you refer, to be able to identify the artist with certainty. A little while ago I wrote to Dr. Alessandro Bettagno at the Cini Foundation. He acknolwedged very agreeably the photograph, but added that it would have to be "studiare con un po' di tempo". However, in the meantime, and it might needle him, I will communicate your suggestions to him...! With renewed thanks for your kind interest and in the hope of seeing you in the not too distant future, with best regards, Sincerely yours, Germain Seligman Mr. Winslow Ames Gallery of Modern Art 1411 Third Avenue New York 28, New York ^[[marginalia - W.
