Decr 18th 1867 Dunn Wm Jr. Respectfully applies for the restoration of his property now held by the United States Govmt, as abandoned property, Situated near Beaufort, N.C. (2 Enclosures) Bureau of R. F. & A. L. Hd Qrs Sub Div. 3 S. Dist. N.C. Beaufort N.C. Decr 18, 1867 Respectfully forwarded to Bvt. Lt. Col. J F Chur A.A.A.G. thru. Lt Col S Moore S.A. Comr for the action of the Asst. Commr. This property forms part of that described on my Land Report. (under the head of Various parties, Boundaries) Upon the beach East of the Outlaw place Beaufort N.C. all of the freedmen living on this property moved their houses on other property.
