[G 2] State of North Carolina Currituck County Know all men by there presents that I, Susan Etheridge, of the County of Tyrrell, State aforesaid, for and in consideration of the sum of eight dollars to me in hand paid by Hugh Gaylord, of State and County aforesaid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, have bargained, sold, and by these presents do bargain, sell and convey unto the said Hugh Gaylord, all the right and title or claim that I by law have in and to the lands that I by right inherit from my father Thomas Etheridge, dec'd., known as the Thomas Etheridge, dec'd., tract, lying and situated on the North end of Roanoke Island, between Daniel Meckins's dec^d, line North binding the same from sound to sound and Hugh Gaylord's and others on the South, the same bounded on the eastward side by Roanoke Sound and on the west by Croatan Sound. To have and to hold the same unto the said Hugh Gaylord his heirs and assigns forever. And I the said Susan Etheridge for myself, my heirs, or assigns, do warrant and defend the title of said lands against the claims of all persons whatsoever to the said Hugh Gaylord, his heirs and assigns, by these presents, witness the
