[[double line]] [[preprinted]] WAR DEPARTMENT, Bureau Refugees, Freedmen, and Abandoned Lands, WASHINGTON, ^[[Jan 22^@]] 1867.[[/preprinted]] Respectfully returned to the Asst Commissioner of N. C. who will report this matter to the parties to whom [[underline]] Capt Hunt [[/underline]] is responsible for the purpose of preventing if possible the repetition of such unwarrantable behavoir. [[underline]] Capt Hunt [[/underline]] having consented unconditionally to transport this officer to Fayetteville at the time he presented his order of transportation in the opinion of the Commissioner was bound to do so, so long as [[underlined]] Mr Hodges [[/underlined]] conducted himself in a proper manner.
