[H 230] Manson Warren Co NC January 10th 68. Col Jas. V. Bomford. Dear Sir: You will recollect my being in Raleigh a few days before Christmas and the object of that visit, which was to get a decision made by Lt. Ebeck of Henderson, reversed. But, as I can't expect you to recollect what was said on that occasion in regard to this matter I will give you the facts as nearly as I can. This plantation is in Franklin Co. and is owned jointly by Messrs Thos. & Jas. Branch & myself. The Messrs Branch are of Richmond. About the 1st Dec last I went down to the plantn and found
