1 THE YEAR 1938 [[line]] On July 9, 1938, I resumed keeping my diary and I kept it quite faithfully until November 28, 1940 on a day-by-day basis. In order to bridge the gap between my 1937 write-up and the resumption of my diary, I'm going to prepare a brief version of the first half of 1938. Almost all of this will be devoted to GE work and most of that to the New Haven 0361-0366 job; this is largely because that particular job is the only one on which I have any material. However, this will accomplish the useful purpose of filling the gap on this important job between the end of 1937 and where I pick it up again in the summer of 1938 in my reinstated diary. This account is authentic because it is based on a notebook I kept on the job while in New York and New Haven during the breaking-in period. Forman H. Craton Erie, Pa., July 26, 1974.
