[[/underlined]] In October last the Institution received from the Freer Estate:- 3,919 shares Parke, Davis & Co. (market value) | $352,710.00 Cash | [[underlined]] 294.75 [[/underlined]] Total | $353,004.75 By the terms of the will of Mr. Freer, this fund is for the purpose of providing a permanent endowment for the following purposes:- Curator's fund, Freer Gallery | $156,885.50 Court and Grounds, Freer Gallery | $156,885.50 Court and Grounds - maintenance Freer Gallery | [[underlined]] 39,233.75 [[/underlined]] | $353,004.75 The institution has also received a quarterly dividend of $1.00 each on the above shares, which has been applied to separate accounts for expenditure as follows:- Curator, current account, Freer Gallery | $1,742.00 Court and grounds, current account, Freer Gallery | $1,742.00 Court and grounds, maintenance, current amount, Freer Gallery | [[underlined]] 435.00 [[/underlined]] Total | $3,919.00 [[underlined]] The Freer Residuary Legacy [[/underlined]] has not yet been received by the Institution. [[underlined]] Avery Bequest. [[/underlined]] One piece of improved property, on East Capitol Street, yielding a nominal rent, remains to be sold before this estate can be closed. The bequest, which is allowed to accumulate by reinvestment of its income now amounts to $31,527.00. [[underlined]] Poore Bequest. [[/underlined]] Several parcels of unimproved land near the City of Lowell, Massachusetts, constitute the residue of this bequest. They are being sold as favorable opportunities offer. It will be remembered that Mr. Poore imposed the condition that his gift should be allowed to accumulated [[initialed]] CDW [[/initialed]]
