[[/preprinted left margin]] Proceedings of the Board of Regents of the Smithsonian Institution at the Annual Meeting held December 11, 1924. HOUR OF MEETING. The Board of Regents met at 10.00 o'clock A. M. in the Regents' Room. PRESENT. The Hon. William H. Taft, Chief Justice of the United States, Chancellor; Senator Reed Smoot; Senator George Wharton Pepper; Representative Albert Johnson; Representative R. Walton Moore; The Hon. George Gray; The Hon. Henry White; Mr. Charles F. Choate, Jr; Mr. Robert S. Brookings; Mr. Frederic A. Delano; and The Secretary, Mr. Charles D. Walcott. NON-ATTENDANCE. The Secretary stated that Senator Stanley was prevented from attending by important business engagements; that Representative Newton had been called out of town; and that Mr. Laughlin was absent owing to his duties as United States Minister to Greece. The Secretary added that in accordance with precedent, the Honorable Albert B. Cummins, President pro tempore of the Senate, had been invited to attend the meeting in place of the Vice President, whose office was now vacant, but had not been able to come.
