[[preprinted]] SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTION 693 [[/preprinted]] [[preprinted in left margin]] MADE BY BAKER-VAWTER CO. [[/preprinted in left margin]] Museum, where it has been recorded as a gift from the Dognin Collection Fund. These 3,000 types added to the 5,000 types of species personally described by Dr. Schaus, make our collection in this line unrivaled. Mr. White then offered the following resolutions which were adopted:- RESOLVED; That the thanks of the Board of Regents of the Smithsonian Institution are hereby conveyed to the contributors to a fund of some $50,000 for the purchase of the Paul Dognin Collection of moths and butterflies. RESOLVED; That the thanks of the Board are also tendered Dr. William Schaus, Honorary Assistant Curator of the Division of Insects of the National Museum, for his initiative and personal efforts in securing the contributions that have made possible the acquisition of this large and valuable addition to the collections of the Museum. RESOLUTION RELATIVE TO INCOME AND EXPENDITURE. Mr. Delano, on behalf of the Executive Committee, offered the following resolution, which was adopted:- RESOLVED; That the income of the Institution for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1928, be appropriated for the service of the Institution, to be expended by the Secretary, with the advice of the Executive Committee, with full discretion on the part of the Secretary as to items. SPECIAL COMMITTEE ON POLICY OF THE INSTITUTION. The Secretary stated that with the development of the Institution it had become desirable to have appointed a Special Committee to consider its future, and submitted the following resolution which was adopted:- RESOLVED; That a committee is hereby created, consisting of the Executive Committee and two other members of the Board, to be designated by the Chancellor, to consider the future course of the development of the Institution, and to submit its recommendations to the Board at its next meeting. The Chancellor thereupon appointed the following as members of this Special Committee; Messrs. Choate, Delano, Moore, Morrow, White. ^[[CDW]]
