^[[checkmark]] WJ:KP January 20th, 1934. Boris Deutsch, Esq., 428 Lafayette Street, New York City. Dear Sir: While it gives us great pleasure to permit you to hold during ordinary business hours an exhibition of paintings in our galleries, to begin February 3rd and to last until February 17th, we beg to point out that in order to protect our own works of art, it must be understood that the paintings and other works of art, etc. which you will exhibit in our galleries which are placed at your disposal for their exhibition or sale, are, while in our premises, entirely at your own risk, and that this Corporation is discharged of all responsibilities in regard to the exhibition. It is further distinctly understood that you will insure the said paintings and whatever risk you will introduce at your own expense. As agreed, we shall get twenty per cent. (20%) commission on all sales, that is, on the selling price of all pictures sold or orders taken, during the exhibition or as a result of it. Expenses for publicity, sending out invitations, advertisements, etc., will be at your charge, but on receipt by us of a commission of not less than the total expense, we will pay one half of said expenses. Would you kindly confirm to us your agreement with the above by signing and returning to us the duplicate of this letter which we enclose herewith. Very truly yours, Jacques Seligmann & Company, Inc. Accepted: [[signature line]] ^[[JS]]
