March 1st., 1944. Dear Mr. Bull: From April 19th., to May 6th., I am going to hold an exhibition of the work of FERNAND LEGER centered around one of his monumental paintings, "Les Plongeurs, en Noir" (The Divers). The annexed note will give you an idea of the special interest of this exhibition. Fernand Léger is of course sufficiently well known to you not to make it necessary to point out that he is one of the leaders of the modern movement and ranks, in the opinion of many, with Picasso, Braque and Rouault, hence the readers of your magazine might be interested in this announcement. I am also sending you a photograph, in case you should care to reproduce it. In due time I shall, of course, send you an invitation to the preview and hope that you will give me the pleasure of coming in. Yours very sincerely, (Germain Séligmann) Harry A. Bull, Esq., Town & Country, 572 Madison Avenue, N.Y. 22, New York.
