November Twentieth 1 9 4 0 Dear Mr. Pach: Now that the last hour of the "Masterpieces of Art" is approaching, and most of the problems have been settled, our work of the past year will soon be a matter of the past and of art history. I do not want to leave these offices, however, without congratulating you on the results of this exhibition, which though it may not have proven a great success financially, has been and will be for many years to come a cultural and educationallandmark. I also want to express in a few words what a pleasure and a privilege it has been to collaborate with you on this great undertaking, of which I shall carry at all times but the most pleasant recollections. Kindly accept my very best wishes, and also please express to Mrs. Pach my sincere thanks for her indefatigable efforts in helping us both to get this collection together. At the same time, I want you to know that I am resuming my association of many years standing with Jacques Seligmann & Co. at our new galleries, 5 East 57th Street. Won't you drop in one afternoon soon when you are in the neighborhood to say hello and to see our new quarters? In the meantime, my kindest personal regards to you and Mrs. Pach. Always sincerely, (R. H. Waegen) Prof. Walter Pach 148 West 72nd Street New York, New York
