[[preprinted]] Wednesday, August 28, 1907 [[/preprinted]] Pond, where we had a swim and then dinner, and then we shoved her up the pond, through the little brook and creek, and came out onto the tail of the Bagaduce. It was a long paddle up the river and through the South Bay, but we finally turned the narrows and paddled down river to our shore, where we landed at twenty minutes past five. We made pretty good Time, and at that we lost an hour pulling into Bucks Harbor, [[and?]] stopped two-and-a-half at Herricks and the Pond. Pretty fair going, at that [[end page]] [[start page]] [[preprinted]] Thursday, August 29, 1907 [[/preprinted]] Spent about all day out at the camp, painting the roof, and closing her up and lugging the stuff in for the winter. We hitched old [[wm]]. up and Dike took the reins and drove him clean over several six [[strikethrough]] and eight [[/strikethrough]] foot pines to the door of the shack. After supper we had a time trying to receive a phone from Great neck, L. I., but there was trouble along the line, [[unreadable strikethrough]] and the call was cancelled. Must have been Uncle Dwight.
