[[preprinted]] Sunday, January 10, 1909 [[/preprinted]] Forbes and I took a stroll down through the bazaar to the other end of the island, this afternoon. Quite interesting, the huts were quite different from the ones we saw at Lahej, and the bazaar here is entirely different from that at Aden. Here it is a jumbled collection of huts, while at Aden there were regular streets. What a bunch of people there is in the Aden bazaar, and how many nationalities! All that is lacking here. [[end page]] [[start page]] [[preprinted]] Monday, January 11, 1909 [[/preprinted]] Stewart went out for the first time since he was taken down, today. We stuck Alidina for his rig and sported it around the lighthouse and along the Kilidini road. The more I see of this joint the more I like Aden. That old burg did fascinate me. It's just about twice as nice as this outfit ever dreamed of being. I won't say I'm kicking because I was sent down here, 'cause I'm not, - I wanted to come. I think I shall like it here yet, but it takes a long time to forget Aden.
