[[preprinted]] Monday, January 10, 1910 [[/preprinted]] Our old friend Hford got back from Zanzibar today. There had been nothing doing in the business line, but he saw the place, and has a good time, and to tell the truth, that was the reason he went. again. But I myself have no desire to come to Mombasa in particular, anymore [[end page]] [[start page]] [[preprinted]] Tuesday, January 11, 1910 [[/preprinted]] It seems more improbable, every day, that I shall return to this joint. In the first place, I don't care a damn for Mombasa, in the second place I wouldn't ask any girl to come to such a hole to live, and in the third place, Mford will probably have my job before I start home. His people have written him that they has decided to discontinue their Aden business, and suggested that he approach AC&Co. I guess he'll be working for us next fall, and his natural station would be Mombasa. The presence of an extra man will no doubt take the edge off their anxiety (?) to have me come out
