[[preprinted]] Tuesday, January 10, 1911 [[/preprinted]] I was a wailin' and a bemoanin' of the other day, my inability to save money. I still have that grouch, but I was a little consoled today to find on adding up my consular invoice that I have over $100 of stuff in those two cases, all bought out here, and which will come in useful when you consider my binoculars and camera are worth another 50 or more, and that Edie has another 50 in dresses that I shan't have to buy later on, and then consider the coin to [[Ragaduce?]], I ain't such a hell of a spendthrift. [[end page]] [[start page]] [[preprinted]] Wednesday, January 11, 1911 [[/preprinted]] Jetha came in this morning, with a "false-alarm twenty" - you know that lot of sawbucks they issued a few years ago with the gold backs? I paid him 30 rupees for it, which is good exchange. (For me. 7d. in the [[lira?]]) Jevver read Geo. Ades "Slim Princess?" I did twicet, today. It's just nifty. He might make it into a second "Sultan of Sulu", with a little elaboration. Georgie should. Had some hot sets out at the Mnazi Moja this afternoon, but alas, I copped the first, and then fell down twicet. It was menhinnick, too.
