-3- with any people with whom you do business, which we feel sure would result in a profit to us, and in a higher appreciation of your services on our part. We have decided to fix your salary for the third year, commencing at the expiration of your second year's term, at the rate of One thousand dollars ($1000) per year-the other terms being as stated in the contract. In spite of what we say in this letter, we assure you that we would appreciate it if your future services give more satisfaction, less cause of complaint and such as to induce us to depend upon you as one liable to continue in our service a great many years. We are very glad for your continued good health, and with our best wishes for the coming holidays, which may be perhaps at little late in arriving, we remain Yours very truly, [[signature]] Arnold Cheney & Co [[/signature]] DICT.J.A.J.
