2. Before I forget it, as I write, let me tell you I owe you $25.75. on the Rocky Mtn. trip. I hope I can leave a check for you if I do not I will surely pay on my return home in Sept. Last Evening Mrs Thaw gave a Musical. Mr. McIntyre played. He & his wife were very cordial & I am going send him Prof. Fillmore's last paper. Mr. McIntyre however is not musical student after the kind of Prof. Fillmore - so I think he has rather lost the interest he felt for he said nothing of the Ind. Songs last eve. but - I had only a few moments' talk with him, & he was nervous, for you know his bread & butter is at stake, & he was of course thinking of the music he had to play, its reception, his own position & Fam etc, etc. He was cordial & that showed he had not really forgotten. Mr G. Miles was here. He was the fine baritone whom I heard when Mrs T. took me to hear Elizha. He sang superbly - I had a talk with him - He is an artist - but not a composer. You would like him.
