November 13, 1963 Dear Mr. Dalton: It has just occurred to me that a few months ago I had volunteered to lend the painting you have just acquired "Asa, Le roi d'Israel" by VIGNON to an Exhibition to be held in Houston from January 23rd to February 9th. This, you will understand, binds you in no way, and I would not be surprised were you to prefer to keep the painting in your home. However, should you be willing to cooperate in this undertaking - a most interesting one and for a worthy cause - the "Festival of the Bible in the Arts", to be held at Temple Emanu El, Houston, I would hasten to give you all additional data. As is usual in such aesthetic manifestations, all expenses would, of course, be taken care of by the organizers. I would appreciate hearing from you as to your views on this topic, so that in turn I could advise the Exhibition Committee accordingly. With best greetings, Sincerely yours, GERMAIN SELIGMAN Mr. Harry L. Dalton 1212 Wachovia Bank Building Charlotte Z, North Carolina ^[[TP]]
