[[preprinted]] HARRY L. DALTON 121 WAHOVIA BANK BUILDING CHARLOTTE 2, NORTH CAROLINA TELEPONE 332-5380 [[/preprinted]] November 18, 1963 Dear Mr. Seligman: Thank you for your letter of November 13, 1963 but the University of North Carolina is borrowing a hundred of my paintings for an exhibition at the same date that you requested for the exhibit in Houston. I thought, perhaps I would include the Asa in the exhibit as I was trying to include in this paintings from traditional to abstract so that a student could browse around and trace the ^[[trends in]] paintings. It was a pleasure to meet you and I hope it will lead to additional friendships. I presume Mr. Hamilton told you we also bought a Moro . We bought a Constable at Agnews and some other paintings in Europ0e so I am ^[["]] dead broke ^[["]] just at the moment. Duke University has fifty of my paintings on display, Davidson has fifteen and the University of Arizona one so my paintings are getting worn out traveling around the country. Sincerely yours, [[signed]] Harry L. Dalton [[/signed]] Harry L. Dalton Mr. Germain Seligman Jacques Seligmann & Co., Inc. 5 East 57th Street New York 22, New York
