5 [[double underlined]]E. G. Blackford[[/double underlined]], [[underlined]]New York Market. [[/underlined]] [[underlined]]Accession[[/underlined]] 13065 ; [[underlined]]Catalogue[[/underlined]] 32753. A specimen of mackerel [[underlined]]Scomber scombrus[[/underlined]] ? without any traces of black half bands. It does not seem to differ otherwise from scombrus. [[double underlined]]E. G. Blackford[[/double underlined]], [[underlined]]Fort Pond Bay[[/underlined]], [[underlined]]Long Island[[/underlined]]. [[underlined]]Accession[[/underlined]]13539, [[underlined]]Catalogue[[/underlined]] 33158. A very fine example of [[underlined]]Seriola lalandii[[/underlined]] measuring more than 30 inches in length. Complete measurments have been taken. This is unquestionably the [[underlined]]I. lalandii[[/underlined]] of Bull. 16 U. S. Nat. Mus., p. 912, a species [[hitherto]] known on our coast from Florida only. [[double underlined]]E. G. Blackford[[/double underlined]] , [[underlined]]West Indies[[/underlined]], [[underlined]]South America[[/underlined]], &c. [[underlined]]Accession[[/underlined]] 13737 ; [[underlined]]catalogue[[/underlined]] 33222 - 33265, 33589 - 33780. This is part of a full series of the fishes formerly belonging to J. C. Brevoort, which Mr. Blackford has presented to the National Museum. Besides the tank specimens there are four barrels full of jars containing fishes in alcohol. I have not yet been able to identify the species, but will report upon them more fully hereafter.
