Mr., State of North Carolina Raleigh, N.C., July 26th, 1865. Orders - [[underlined]] No. 1. [[/underlined]] Maj. Chas. E. Pearce, Sup't Freedmen Wilmington, N.C. To enable me to comply with existing orders, all officers of the Quartermaster's Dep't on duty in this Bureau, are required to render to this office, at the times hereinafter specified, the following monthly reports:- [[underlined]] 1st- [[/underlined]] On the 1st day of each month, a Report of the Means of Transportation held by them, stating the number of Horses, Mules, Army Wagons, Spring Wagons, Ambulances, Wheel Harness, Lead Harness, Wagon Saddles, Riding Saddles & Riding Bridles- and how they are employed. [[underlined]] 2nd- [[/underlined On or before the 5th of each month, a Report of officers to whom Military Supplies or monies have been transferred during the month preceding the date of said report, - in accordance with Gen. Orders No. 1, Quartermaster General's Office, Washington, January 8th, 1864, and subsequent modification requiring Q. M. Stores and monies to be stated separately from Clothing, Camp and Garrison Equipage. [[underlined]] 3rd- [[/underlined]] On or before the 5th of each month, an Estimate of Funds required for the service of the Quartermaster's Dep't, for the current month,- including a statement of the amount due and remaining unpaid- Care will be taken that these reports are full and correct in every particular- and that they are forwarded to this office at the specified time.
