The print of academy and articles in [[?]] for happens to very bad, so that it would be well to glance at it merely. The exhibition in your [[?]] is an excellent one, but no words or works have been considered worthy of the Temple Fund purchase. There were quite a number of people there last evening. A thick, cold drizzle was falling but better weather would not probably have made a very great difference. Many of the pictures, more particularly those painted in light masses and your portrait of Fanny Godman among these, looked very well. Philadelphia interest, and appreciation is not worthy of the exhibition, and the response of the up-hill is rather discouraging. If you have not already read "L'Arti”[[?]] I think that you will enjoy it as I have. A successful dramatization is now being played at our New York Theater. Les[[?]] de Fez has an equal charm, and I include a copy used at a little French reading in which I took part recently -
