Wiskerchen RE: KidSat Status Report Date: Week ending 30 Dec 94 - Happy Gnu Year Summary: Short, slow week. Spent time reading up on various manuals and organizing documentation collected in previous 2 weeks. Found a software package called Information Sharing Protocol (ISP) which appears to be exactly what we want to use for KidSat. Next week we plan to make contact with the KidSat Payload Integration Manager, Sharon Castle, seek more documentation on the ISP and Ku-band Comm Adaptor (KCA), and meet again with Brian Boland on NASA's Front End requirements. If there is anything else that you can think of that we should do before we leave, please advise. Information Sharing Protocol (ISP) The ISP is a real-time, distributed-computing model with interrupt-driven programming techniques. It runs in a UNIX environment above standard workstation services, using TCP/IP network communications. Supports real-time telemetry, data distribution, X Windows, etc. Data is sent in packets. We are trying to get more information and documentation, including source code. Attachment converted: VOYAGER:Status Report, 30 Dec 94 (WDBN/MSWD) (000029E0) Printed for sride@ucsd.ed (Sally K. Ride) 1
