Secretary to H.E. BISHOP PAUL YU-PIN VICAR APOSTOLIC OF NANKING SPECIAL ENVOY OF THE CHINESE NATIONAL GOVERNMENT RELIEF COMMISSION DELEGATE OF THE ASSOCIATED PHILANTROPIC SOCIETIES OF SHANGHAI CO-FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR OF THE CATHOLIC WAR RELIEF ASSOCIATION IN CHINA TELEPHONE, RANDOLPH 6591 1514 WEBSTER STREET, N.W. WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S.A. March, 30th, 1939. Miss Ya-ching Lee c/o Mr. Ting-san Chu Miame, Florida. Dear Miss Lee: Enclosing a letter for you from New York city. I am very sorry to say that the bishop has opened it by mistake, it was entirely our fault as we did not sort out the mails before[[strikethrough]]hand[[/strikethrough]] giving to the bishop. Hoping you will forgive us this time. I have been instructed by the bishop to convey the following message to you. It is His Excellency's opinion that you certainly do not have to rush to the less important cities on your program with risking flying against unpermissible weather for trying to make the date [[strikethrough]]of[[/strikethrough]]or time. Any delay of arrival to the destination will not matter very much as long as you keep the people there responsible for the|preparation of welcoming you informed by telegram. Any change you may make, must telegraph to them immediately. The bishop has been very much pleased of your courage and dicipline in offering your service to the country and also for the people, and he appreciated the fighting spirit you possessed in going through all the hardships and difficulties. It is to his knowledge that you certainly will work hard for the noble cause which we are fighting for, but also it is his sincere wish that you will take good care of yourself. Please collect all the articles or items in the local papers concerning your flight and send one copy of each to me for record at your convenience. The bishop wishes to send his best regards to Mr. Chu, please convey it to him at your meetings. Best wishes and best luck to you from the entire staff members of H. E. the Bishop. I am, Very sincerely yours, Sidney F. Lee
