6 I heard last evening that Tom Brown, Freedman, agnt whom complaints were made & forwarded to you some time since is now living in Jackson, North Hampton Co. If you have not succeeded in finding him as yet, I think you will be able to get hold of him at Jackson. July 24" 1866 McAlpine Lt T D, Asst Supt Sub Dist of Raleigh Raleigh NC Lieutenant After careful inquiry I can find one person of the name of Horace White (Freedman) in any Sub Dist I am informed however that the man you want lives in Wake Co near Wake Forest College Very Respectfully Your Obdt Servt Ths H Hay Capt V R C & Asst Supt 10 Bureau R F & A L Sub Dist of Warren Franklinton N.C. July 24' 1866 7 Brady Bvt Col A.G. Supt Cent Dist Raleigh N.C. Colonel, I have the honor to return S.O. No. 92. Bu R.F. & A L. Hd Qrs Asst Com NC Raleigh July 21 '1866 instructing me to visit Warrenton, on business of the Bureau, with the request that the order may be so altered as to cover the time when I make my visit I have the honor to state that my appointments in Warrenton are always for alternate Thursdays, of which times I am expected. I applied for the order on the 16th inst & went on the 19th in order not to disappoint the people. The order only recd this AM I make this request in order that any a/c with the Q M may be regular. Very Respectfully Your Obdt Servt Ths H Hay Capt V R C & Asst Supt Recd back July 27/66 with endorsement that the order is sufficient to collect trans from Q M D 11 Bureau R F & A L Sub Dist of Warren Franklinton N.C.
